Hello, and welcome to my Personal Website!

My name is Gavin Piersol, and I am currently a student at the University of Nevada, Reno. I was born in San Francisco, California, before spending the first decade of my life in El Cerrito, California. My family then moved to Granite Bay, California where I eventually attended Granite Bay High School. During my final year, I toured UNR and decided to pursue a degree in Business Administration here. I decided to go to UNR because of the amazing campus, location from home, and the abundant resources that are made available to me.

Although I am not 100% sure on the exact career I would like to have, I think that it will be something surrounding sports management due to my immense passion for sports. I have loved sports for as long as I could remember. Whether it was playing little league baseball in El Cerrito or taking the BART every Sunday to attend Oakland Raider games, it has always been a big part of my life one way or another. Of course, growing up in the East Bay Area didn’t just mean supporting the football team in the (formerly) O.Co Coliseum, but also the Oakland A’s as well. Unfortunately for me, I decided to become a basketball fan after I moved to NorCal, meaning that I was now a Sacramento Kings fan instead of a Warriors fan. I later became a fan of the soccer club Tottenham Hotspur and have also become fans of other sports like MMA and F1.

There’s a reason why I bring all of that up. Although I was never anywhere near good enough to even consider playing sports professionally, I have long wanted to work in the industry one way or another.

Since I arrived UNR, I immediately made steps to connect with individuals inside the Reno Aces, which is the city’s minor league Baseball team. I am hoping that at some point during my college tenure that I can get involved and get some experience before I graduate with my degree and fully enter the industry full time. My Dream is to somehow be in a situation where I am involved with a Professional Sports team in an important role. I would insist upon my understanding of many sports to where I would be able to positively contribute to things both on and off the field, wherever I may be needed. I have always aspired to be someone who works for something they feel passion for – not just the money. I would absolutely trade a higher salary for my dream job.

Outside of sports/my potential career path, I have some other passions. I love spending time with my family and friends in any way possible. My family has never been very big, so we have always been a tight bunch. We often times go Skiing together and also love to do things outdoors together.
